09/10/2006 Director's speaks: IN SEARCH OF THE VALLEY!
Am 5. Oktober haben wir über den Dokumentarfilm "IN SEARCH OF THE VALLEY" geblogt. Meine beiden Shootouts wurden dann umgehend vom Regisseur Steve O'Hear beantwortet:
Shootout #1: Warum wird ein Film, der im 2004 über das Silicon Valley gedreht wird, erst im 2006 veröffentlicht?
Steve O'Hear (Regisseur): "Lots of reasons. Firstly we had 50 hours of footage to sift through. Lots of it not very usable. Then I got ill and had to go to hospital (I was editing)... it took me a few months to fully recover. But the biggest hold up was probably getting permission to use photographs and archive footage. It didn't take 2 years to finish - more like 1.5 years. It took 2 years to get it into the DVD store."
Shootout #2: Warum wird „IN SEARCH OF THE VALLEY“ nicht kostenlos über youtube oder Google-Video zur Verfügung gestellt, wenn der Film schon von Innovation und Silicon Valley handelt?
Steve O'Hear (Regisseur): We've thought about this and *may* do it at a much later date. First we want to see how DVD sales go. However, we have a YouTube channel and will be putting up more material over the next few months.

09/10/2006 Wer wird oberster Innovationsförder der Schweiz?
In der Schweiz wird die Innovationsförderung durch das KTI / CTI umgesetzt. Seit 1986 hat die KTI rund 4500 Projekte unterstützt, die ein Forschungs- und Entwicklungsvolumen von rund 3 Milliarden Franken ausgelöst haben.
Seit Anfang 2006 ist Christoph Caviezel der Leiter des KTI / CTI und Stv. Direktor des Bundesamtes für Berufsbildung und Technologie und nun tritt er aber auch schon wieder zurück. Auf der Homepage der BEA bern congress steht:
"Christoph Caviezel tritt per Anfang 2007 in die BEA bern expo AG ein und wird im Frühsommer 2007 den Vorsitz der Geschäftsleitung von Heiner Federli übernehmen...Die Leitung eines Messe- und Kongressunternehmens entspricht seit jeher seiner Wunschvorstellung. .."

Shootout #2: Wir wünsche Christoph alles Gute bei der neuen Herausforderung und danken ihm für die geleistete Arbeit!
Knapp ein Jahr lang war Christoph Caviezel oberster Innovationsförderer der Schweiz. Nun wird er CEO der BEA bern congress.
